The Booger Song

This just might be the funniest video I've ever taken of my girls. Sorry for the angle, I had to be conspicuous as they were both sitting right next to me on the couch. Some background before you watch it...Jane had just come from a short time out in her room and was sad. She sat down next to me and Zoey came over and started comforting her with a song something like this "Don't cry, don't be sad, it's ok". Zoey has done this before and when I heard her starting to sing to Jane I immediately got my phone recording because I didn't want to miss such a sweet moment. Little did I know, the course of the song would soon change...

Easter

Just some cute pictures of the kids on Easter Sunday and today (the week after). We had a wonderful Easter with lots of family including Andrew's sister Alisa and her family who came to visit us for their Spring break. It was fun to have such a large group of Olsen's running around in Independence. I am so grateful for my Savior and the sacrifices he made so that I can live again.

I really love my kids!

I know my posts have really been lacking here and I apologize. Life has been busy, but wonderful. I have been making some much needed improvement to my life and it's been a neat experience. It feels good to see improvement, even if it's something small. I'm not sure what exactly to post right now other than some cute pictures of the kiddos. They really are cute kids, can't say that enough! I am so blessed to have such loveable children. SO easy to love.

A few of my favorite things about my kids....

Zoey: She was a very early talker with perfect pronunciation from day 1. I am proud of this but haven't gotten to experience much of the cute toddler talk/gibber that most toddlers have. Consequently when she does slip up on a word/phrase I hardly ever correct her. I think it's cute to hear the last of her toddler days still lingering. Here are the few she is still saying. Breakfast=Bregbrist

Fold your arms=Fol-jarms

Tornado=Tormado (both her and Jane say this)

When she sneezes she says "bless you" instead of "excuse me"

She calls sneezes "bless you's"

There are a couple more that I can't recall. Pretty soon she will be a kid with no toddler left in her. I'm feeling a little apprehensive about that but excited at the same time. She's such a good little girl despite her persistent fights with Jane.

Jane: She is my cuddle buddy! She loves to melt into your arms and give hugs, lay her head down, or just smother her head into your belly for no reason at all. I love it. She comes into my bed in the morning and cuddles with me. Those are always special moments. She still asks to be held...doesn't NEED to be held, but would prefer it. Not for laziness sake, just to be close to someone. I also love how she isn't particular about who is cuddling her. It could be mom or dad or some random nice stranger. She warms up pretty fast and gives her love so willingly. What a special quality to have. I am excited to see how this quality is expressed as she gets older. Hopefully she will always be willing to give her momma a nice big hug.

Thomas: This kid is crazy. He's so funny and is really starting to show his personality. He has found his vocal chords, boy has he found them! He starts yelling, not screaming, it's a deep LOUD yell when he wants attention. SO different from my girlies. Andrew asked the other day if our girls ever yelled like him and I had to remind him that "no, remember the girls screamed in high pitch shrill voices? This is just the boy version of that". I have to say, I much prefer the boy version. It may be loud, but it does not physically hurt my ears. He also started doing this cute thing recently that I'll try to describe. When I'm holding him and not looking at him (usually looking at my phone or something) he cranes his head around and under where my face is so he is looking straight at my face. When we make eye contact he gets a huge grin. I set him back in normal position on my hip and he'll start over leaning in to see my face like it's a game. It's SO cute. I just love that little boy. He just started crawling which is fun. He also got his first tooth! We sure do love having this little spirit blessing our home each day.

Pi Day

My Big Little Boy

It's crazy how quickly time passes with these little ones. My little baby boy is already 7 months old..almost 8! It really seems like he was just born and here he is almost crawling. I really do love to see their progressions but a part of me just wishes they could be a newborn for at least the first year. It's such a precious and special time in life. The dynamics between Thomas and his sisters is just awesome, I feel blessed that from the start they have done nothing but love and adore him. When Jane is having a tough time emotionally, one of the only things that gets her to stop crying is to bring Thomas over to her. It's really cute. I'm sure there will be fights along the way but I am so grateful for the love he brings to our family.

Missouri!

We have officially moved to MO! Huge changes for us but nice to be settled into our own place. We live in Independence and are liking it so far. It helps to have nieces and nephews and in-laws here to keep entertained. Andrew started a business here with his brother and nephew to help build up local businesses through website presence online. It's in the works and we're really excited for it! If anyone needs a good, customized website let us know!

Update on the kids:
Zoey: growing up so fast! I can't believe she'll be starting kindergarten next calendar year (2013!!!) crazy crazy crazy! I'll say it again, crazy! She's learning her letters (I know I'm slacking but I honestly don't care, whats the benefit to learning your letters when you're 2 as opposed to 3 or 4?). She's also really taken a liking to cleaning up. That's been awesome. She gets more and more independent each day. Gets herself dressed, plays by herself, cleans up her dinner plate, etc.

Jane: day one of potty training started today...wish me luck :) She is my little cuddle buddy, many times a day she will come up to me with the best hug and declare "I love you mommy". Melts my heart every time, I love it!

Thomas: 7 months! He has mastered sitting up (with the occasional tumble). He's getting up on all fours almost ready to crawl! Unfortunately he still spits up...a lot :( I've tried every type of formula in every brand and nothing works..any suggestions? It doesn't affect his health or weight or happiness but it can sure be frustrating for the momma (extra laundry, scrubbing floors/blankets, endless changes of clothes, dealing with people yelling out to me in public "he barfed!!!".....whew! Gets tiring). On a lighter note, he's an extremely happy baby with TONS of personality. We live him so much!
