Welcome Baby Caleb!

Zoey's newest cousin arrived on August 17th. He is absolutely adorable and I was so glad we were in UT to meet him. His name is Caleb and he is the 7th child in his family. Congratulations to the Ellis family! Oh and he is the 56th grandchild to Mel and Nancy. What a blessing it is to have so many best friends. I really have loved being a part of this family. Here are some words to describe them....party 24/7 literally, crazy, food, Nanny's house, Papa's lot, baptisms, ordinations, missions, vacations, business ventures, BABIES :), friends, birthday parties, any party, games at night, movie nights, girls nights out, girls weekends out, park dates, barbeques, "who left the gate open!", sleepovers at Nanny's, living at Nanny's, family reunions, camping trips, frozen lemonades, homemade salsa, chuck-e-cheeses, the biggest thanksgiving ever, front flips, back flips, any kind of flip, trampolines, jump on it, and the list goes on. Little Caleb is so blessed to have been born into this family. He already has 55 permanent friends just waiting to watch him grow up.

Big sister (and cute at that) Savannah with Baby Caleb, 2 days old.

He really is so precious and cute. It makes me want a baby boy!

Yosemite!

A couple weeks ago my family went camping at Yosemite (minus Dad and Dustin). It was so much fun! We stayed 5 days and 4 nights. It's a beautiful park with tons to do and see.

The whole gang at Tunnel View Point

Our food was great! Pineapple upside down cake, peach cobbler, empinadas, tin foil dinners, steak, mmmm!

Down by the river

On our last day there, we spent the day at the Mariposa Grove where Yosemite has it's largest Sequoias. They were amazing. We hiked about 7 miles exploring the grove and all the amazing giants. We got some pretty cute shots with Zoey in front of these trees; it was just too cute seeing this teeny girl in front of something so large.

Andrew's was behind Zoey so she didn't fall.

Here's a Zoey size tree :)

About half way through our hike, Zoey got really bored of being in a hiking backpack. We let her out and she really like just being free. She did get really dirty though but what can you expect when you're camping.

This is the fallen Monarch. It was huge. You could have carved it out and lived in it!

Zoey played pretty well the pack n play outside in the shade. It was nice to be able to put her in it when I couldn't hold her and didn't want her roaming in the dirt. She's such a cutie in this picture.

The second day we hiked Vernal Falls. I had done this once before with my family in High School and it was fun to do it again. It's known as the misty trail because as you hike along the water fall you can feel the mist from it. We were there during one of the most dry times, so there were only a couple spots where we could feel the mist. At the top of the water fall there was a huge bowl of water and above it was a perfect natural slip n slide coming into the bowl. The signs said no swimming was allowed since it was at the top of the water fall, but there were about 20 people sliding down the rock sides and along the water into the bowl. Since it was so dry there was no way they could have gone over into the falls. The bowl was completely blocked off with no way out. Andrew said if it weren't Sunday he would have jumped in for sure.

This is in the parking lot at Glacier Point. My mom says I look like a little kid in this picture....oh well what's new.

This is a panoramic shot at Glacier Point. It really was an amazing view! You can see half domw in the center and on the right if you look close you can see two water falls. The lower one is Vernal Falls, which we hiked and the higher one is Neveda Falls.

Zoey was desperate for a bath to get the sunscreen out of her hair. Nothing took it out except dish soap, but that was a nightmare after she started rubbing her eyes :(

Andrew, Dallin, and Karlie on our mattress on the river. This was the only time they could all stand up at once. It quickly turned into a pushing contest.

Merced River was a popular palce to hang out. It was fun to just relax on our rafts. The water was too cold for me, but most everyone else got in. The current was so slow you couldn't even tell which direction it flowed. It was just steps from our campsite.

Zoey is wearing Breanna's sun hat. It was really cute on her.

Yosemite was so much fun! Especially going with my family. This earth really has such beauty; what a great trip!

Zoey's Update

I forgot to post Zoey's stats from her one year doctor appointment. She is 29 inches long (50%) her head I forgot (something normal), and she is 17.5 pounds (still 5%). She had her shots and that was sad :( but they are done for awhile. Zoey has learned some fun things these past weeks. She can sign for "food", "all done", "thank you", and just learned "I love you". Thank you is the cutest one, it's the the real way to sign for thank you; I picked something not so close to food so she uses the sign for "please" for "thank you" (you pat your chest with one hand, she does it with a big grin). I haven't gotten that into signing with her mostly because the first one I taught her "food" was really hard. I decided it wasn't worth the struggle especially since she is saying food along with the sign. She's much better at saying words than signing them.

As far as walking, she is not :) She is headed in the right direction. She stands up more and more and started getting up on her own in the middle of the floor. There's improvement! I'm just hoping this is a good outlook on what's to come....a nice, relaxed, quiet, and polite little girl that likes to take her time and is in no rush :) I'm dreaming right?

A few of Zoey's hobbies are talking on the phone, playing with musical toys, taking baths, going swimming, eating, eating mom's popsicles, begging, dancing, seeing dogs or animals, blowing a whistle, climbing on the couch, and building hideouts in pillows :)

One more update, Zoey has her third tooth and still a great teether/sleeper.

Cracking up about something

She has learned how to talk on the phone :)
