Time Flies!

Time sure flies with these newborns! I can't believe she is 1 1/2 weeks already! I feel like we just brought her home, crazy. Things have gone well around the house. Zoey really likes her baby Jane. She is as gentle as she knows how to be :) and loves holding her and giving her kisses...lots of kisses. She lets me know what every part of Jane's body is called along with the bodily noises. I never missed a toot, poop, burp, or cry with Zoey around. She is also a great helper getting diapers and wipes for the baby. I love it! She hasn't acted jealous....yet :) Jane is doing really well too. Last Friday she weighed 6 lbs. 8 oz. which is 1 oz. up from her birth weight. She was only a week old at the time so this was great news for me! She just seems so itty bitty that I am happy she is gaining over an ounce a day. Zoey stressed me out not eating very well so this is relieving. Jane has also been sleeping pretty good. The last few nights she has been sleeping almost 5 straight hours before she wakes up to eat. Then she'll sleep another 3-4. I feel blessed to be getting some sleep. We are also grateful to friends in the ward that have brought meals in. Andrew has been especially grateful :) Between the Relief Society and my fellow Young Womens leaders we have been well taken care of. Enjoy some pictures of the two girls.

You can see the start of a little smile :)

Zoey is sure happy to be a big sissy

She is always asking to "hojoo" (meaning "hold you" to the baby)

Jane looks so teeny in this picture...she is teeny

Zoey tried pushing Jane around in her new babydoll stroller...I watched VERY closely :)

Just another sister bonding moment :)

After Jane's first bath

Such a cute little face :)

I love how peaceful she looks

Pictures, pictures, and more pictures

My sister-in-law Alisa bought Zoey a present too :) We love her cute pj's

My dad thinks this looks like Zoey is giving Jane the 411 on what life is really like :) cute

She is always sleeping so this is one of the only open eyed shots :)

just after her tubby. Andrew got to give her a full bath. That was neat

Zoey REALLY loves her baby sissy. She whines to get near her and when she is she won't stop kissing her and just getting as close to her as she can (she's pretty gentle thankfully). Today she gave Jane a bunch of kisses and followed by saying "Iwuvoo" along with her sign for "I love you". It's the first time I've ever heard Zoey say I love you without being told it first....it was so special for me to hear that.

Right about to leave the hospital

My girlies :)

My two little girls sure are special. We love them SO much.

Baby Nancy Jane

Baby Nancy Jane Olsen was born on Jan. 14th T 11:12am. She was 6 lbs. 7 oz. and 19 inches long. My delivery was really great. The epidural worked great and she was out in just a few pushes. My doctor was able to deliver her which was really nice since she is leaving on Sat for Hawaii. We will most likely be calling her by her middle name Jane. Her first name is after her Nanny (Andrew's mom) and her middle name is a great+grandmother on my fathers side (Jane Fryer, a great lady). Jane is adorable and perfect. Her sister Zoey loves her baby Sissy. I'll post more pictures/stories later.

Another doctor's appt

Today I went to the doctors. Last week I was almost 2 cm and 75% effaced. Today I was a good 3 cm but she didn't say the effacement. She stripped my membranes...ow! The baby is still super low she says and I am scheduled for an induction tomorrow! That makes me REALLY nervous. I want to try and go on my own. Since my appointment I've only had a few contractions but we have all night so we'll see. I'm going to go get some walking in and see what that does. Either way our little baby girl will be here tomorrow! It's exciting but for some reason really making me nervous. I was never this nervous with Zoey. We're praying that all will go well.

Doctors Appt.

Today I visited the doctors....it went well. My group B was negative, good news. I guess everything else was fine too. My doctor said my baby is probably in the 6 pound range right now....then she checked my progress and realized the baby was REALLY low. This made her rethink her "guess" on the weight (meaning the baby's probably bigger than she thought). I wasn't surprised because this baby has definitely given me a lot more stretch marks than Zoey did. So, I'm thinking we'll have a cute little chubby baby. For those of you who don't know, Zoey was 7 lbs 1 oz when she was born three days late. She was only 18 inches long which made her just the right amount of chubbiness.....for about a week :) She thinned out fast and has been small ever since. It fits her perfectly to be little Zoey. Anyways, back to the appointment, while checking my progess she was surprised to see that I was already almost 2 cm dilated and 75% effaced (or thinned). That is good news. She said it would be a 50/50 chance that I make it to my next appointment....we'll see. I am still skeptical because Zoey was late and my family is known for delivering babies late. Either way, these last couple weeks are a waiting game. However, because the doctor thinks I will be delivering soon I decided it was time to get ready for baby. We bought diapers and I am starting to get a hospital bag ready. I also finally went through Zoey's old clothes and will be doing a load of laundry to get them all nice and smelling good. So, that's that.
I will be posting Christmas pictures sometime soon...

Countdown begins :)

I guess it's about time to add a baby ticker to my blog :) I know a little late, but now it will go by so much quicker right? I will be 38 weeks the end of this week and that is so close! I hope she comes early for two reasons...1) so I don't have to be so impatient and 2) so my doctor can deliver her before she goes to Hawaii (3 days before my due date). We'll see. I was looking up info on what actually makes you go into labor and found that no one really knows. The most popular theory is that there is a hormone sent from either the baby's lungs or their brain telling your body it is ready to come. So, if that is true then the baby will come when she is good and ready and I am fine with that.
Some good news...I have found out a great trick for relieving the pain I get in my right ribs. After looking into it, I decided that my cartiledge in my ribs is inflamed. No matter where the baby is the pain stays the same and hurts! One night, it was so bad I couldn't fall asleep and Andrew looked up some info on it. He said I should try ice so he got me a bag of ice and it worked! Since then I haven't gone to bed without a bad of ice. I even use it during the day because it helps so much. It's instant relief for me. If you have the same problem try it!
Obviously I have this baby on my mind all the time...she moves lots and that's fun. I can't wait to meet her!
